Getting married is one of the most important decisions a person will make in their life. And while there are a lot of resources available to help engaged couples prepare for marriage, there is very little to help them know if they have actually found the right person and if they are both ready to get engaged and married.
That’s why a while ago I wrote the book Before You Get Engaged. It’s a resource individuals and couples are using – before they get engaged – to help them know if they have found the right person and are ready to get married. Because once the engagement is announced, and the “save the date” cards are sent out, and you’ve said yes to the dress… it’s really hard to back out if you start having second thoughts. So I wanted to help couples be sure before the excitement of planning a wedding took over.

The sessions in Know for Sure will lead couples into twelve simple yet crucial conversations that will help them confirm if marriage is the right thing for the two of them. The twelve topics are issues that have come up over and over again in the marriage counseling I have done over the past thirty-five years. The goal of this course is to help couples have the best marriage possible – and avoid problems in the future – by asking themselves these questions now, before they get engaged and married.
